About the role
Candidates may reside in Richmond, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; or Baltimore, MD. The Hybrid Sales Team supports Field Sales, operational, and Marketing initiatives by applying approved best practices, job aids, and quality metrics to build lasting relationships with healthcare practices nationwide. This is a high-energy, self-motivated, dynamic role within a team environment that values individual achievement in a quota-driven, incentivized position. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced setting, using phone and in-person channels to engage healthcare professionals and achieve brand objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person and virtual coverage for field sales vacancies and other business-needed support
- Apply sales techniques to ensure positive results with assigned healthcare professionals
- Verify and complete required data entry, including interaction details and follow-up actions, in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure data integrity
- Manage daily sales call activity to optimize time and maximize achievement of sales objectives
- Listen and respond appropriately to customer questions and needs, ensuring acceptance of or agreement with a “call plan” objective
- Demonstrate thorough product knowledge and communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately using proper medical terminology within Compliance guidelines
- Successfully complete all product and Compliance training (self-study, testing, field work, classroom, or electronic) and meet training expectations
- Work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Process customer requests for product samples and resources in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
- Project a professional company image through all personal and phone interactions with customers and internal partners
- Maintain a positive attitude and customer focus, providing timely resolution for all customer issues, concerns, or questions
- Manage call activity and messaging using AbbVie-approved best practices and compliance regulations
- Communicate effectively and promptly with your Manager
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules
Requirements
- Up to 50–70% travel for in-field coverage, national conferences, and training; flexibility to adapt to occasional changes in geographies, travel plans, and schedules
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of relevant sales experience (healthcare industry preferred, involving interaction with physicians and office staff)
- Ability to work independently, highly organized with superior communication skills
- Professional phone etiquette
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn, assimilate information, and apply established best practices, including:
- Daily activity, goals, and metrics
- Expedient usage of databases and other core tools
- Maintaining strict quality control standards and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with field sales, operations, and marketing to identify methods for improving effectiveness
