HVAC Truck Based Mechanic (union)

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks skilled HVAC Mechanics to support its fast-growing HVAC business in North America. The role offers opportunities to work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with advanced equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency.
• Resolve service-related items and provide solutions to facility inefficiencies.
• Work with other local market mechanics, servicemen, and apprentices.
• Write and communicate to customers about problems, causes, and corrective actions.
• Participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, boilers, compressors, plumbing, and mechanical shaft alignment.
• Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines and mechanical shaft alignment.
• Able to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.

Qualifications

• Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.

• Self-starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.

Benefits

• Pay Range: $38.23 hourly rate, negotiable based on skillset level determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
• Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.

Schedule

• Travel may be required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customer activities, trouble shooting, installation, and repair.
