HVAC Truck Based Mechanic (union)
About the role
Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support its fast-growing HVAC business in North America. The role offers opportunities to work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with advanced equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Provide factory certification through the Service Technical Academy (STA).
- Offer solutions and recommendations to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Write and communicate quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Travel up to 20% to support branch customers' activities, trouble-shooting, installation, and repair.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in HVAC.
- Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, boilers, compressors, plumbing, and mechanical shaft alignment.
- Ability to use vibration equipment and perform mechanical shaft alignment.
- Able to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
Qualifications
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.
Skills
Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills. Ability to write and communicate problem, cause, and corrective actions to customers. Passion for learning and applying on the job.
Benefits
Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role, but negotiations can occur based on skillset level determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
Pay
Pay Range: $42.90 hourly rate in MinScale and is negotiable based off skillset level determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
