What You Will Do

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the growth of our HVAC business in North America. We are committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where our talented people can thrive.

We Are Looking For

  • Practical work experience in HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry
  • Experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment
  • Ability to pass an examination to identify special skills
  • Scope of work limited to commercial HVACR service
  • Partnership with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Required

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
  • Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry
  • Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing
  • Knowledge of mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors
  • Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines
  • Travel may be required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customer activities, trouble shooting, installation, and repair
  • Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies

  • Self-starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job
  • Prioritize safety in all forms

Opportunity

You will be eligible for a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver's license. Pay Range: $50.58 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
