What You Will Do
Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the growth of our HVAC business in North America. Mechanics must have practical work experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
- Provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Offer recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
How Will You Do It
We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade, such as HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.
- Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines and mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc.
- Travel may be required up to 70% to support branch customers activities, trouble shooting, installation, and repair.

- Must pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

- Work with other local market mechanics as well as Servicemen and apprentices.
- Able to write and communicate to the customer about problems, causes, and corrective actions.
- Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Self-starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
Pay & Benefits
The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile. The pay range is $58.92 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
