HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic (union)
What You Will Do
Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the fast-growing HVAC business in North America. This position supports the Western Wisconsin region and primarily services the Tomah, WI area. Mechanics must have practical work experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment and may be required to pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service, including servicing centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Mechanics will perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
How Will You Do It
- Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
- Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Offer recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Write and communicate to customers about problems, causes, and corrective actions.
- Provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Enroll in training programs to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
- Work with other local market mechanics, Servicemen, and apprentices.
- Able to prioritize safety in all forms.
Required
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
- Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing, and mechanical shaft alignment.
- Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines and able to pass a knowledge examination.

Pay Range
The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile. The pay range is $48.25 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
