What You Will Do

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the growth of their HVAC business in North America. Mechanics must have practical work experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. The scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service, including servicing centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

How Will You Do It

  • Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
  • Provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
  • Write and communicate to customers about facility issues, causes, and corrective actions.
  • Provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Ensure facility operations are safe and prioritize safety in all forms.

Required

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.
  • Able to use vibration equipment and dial indicators for pump, fan, and compressor shaft alignment.
  • Able to travel up to 20% to support branch customer activities, trouble shooting, installation, and repair.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.

Pay & Benefits

The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range is $51.02 hourly rate, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
