HVAC Truck Based Chiller Journeyman Mechanic (union)

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to support the growth of their HVAC business in North America. This position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge facilities, chillers, and commercial products.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level service to resolve facility inefficiencies and service-related issues.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Offer recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
• Generate quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

• Must be a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• At least three (3) years of practical experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s or Roof Top ducted units, with strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chiller system components.
• Travel up to 20% to support startup and commissioning activities and aftermarket service trouble-shooting.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Enroll in training programs and JCI’s Service Technical Academy (STA) to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
• Collaborate with other local market mechanics.
• Show attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
• Write and communicate effectively about customer problems, causes, and corrective actions.
• Participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
• Be a self-starter with a passion for learning and applying new skills on the job.
• Hold a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and possess a valid driver's license.

Benefits

The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, exceptional candidates may receive higher pay based on unique skills and experiences. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.

Pay

$46.68 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
