HVAC Truck Based Chiller Apprentice (union)

What You Will Do

• Conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
• Directly interfaces with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Mentors peers on mechanical HVAC installation and service activities.
• Completes required project and service documentation.
• Solves building inefficiencies and resolves service-related issues for customers.
• Provides solutions and outcomes at the time of service as a trusted advisor to customers.

How You Will Do It

• Perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service tasks as per the local union agreement.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
• Perform routine service and inspections of HVAC mechanical equipment, including:
• Changing and servicing filters
• Oiling and greasing equipment
• Adjusting or replacing belts
• Cleaning cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes
• General housekeeping of mechanical systems
• Operate mechanical systems under contract with customers.
• Provide cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment.
• Handle indoor Air Quality related work, including duct systems and drain pans.

Required What We Look For

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• Have completed a vocational school four-year program or earned an associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning, or a similar field.
• Have at least 1 year of industry experience or relevant experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Have generally required knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Show effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and other external contacts.
• Be able to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $21.93 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
