HVAC Specialist (60484)

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure facilities meet safety and operational standards.
• Assist with HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting (HVAC Certification required).
• Help supervise maintenance operations when the Facility Manager is unavailable.
• Monitor and inspect the work of maintenance staff and outside contractors to ensure quality.
• Recommend replacement equipment and facility improvements when needed.
• Support hands-on training for Job Corps students participating in work-based learning.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, operational policies, and facility standards.
• Collaborate with staff across departments to maintain a safe and welcoming campus environment.

What We're Looking For

• HVAC Certification (Required)
• Experience in building maintenance, mechanical systems, or facility operations
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and preventive maintenance
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, walking, and working with tools
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor students and support staff
