About the role
The HVAC Service Manager will lead and supervise HVAC technicians, fostering a team that delivers exceptional customer experiences. They will also serve as a consultant to leadership on operational issues and contribute to shaping the company’s culture and achieving organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and hold technicians accountable for delivering excellence to customers.
- Support technicians with technical issues, both on-site and remotely.
- Manage technician needs, including assistance, praise, and discipline.
- Train and develop technicians through onsite training, coaching, and assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with customer environmental requirements.
- Monitor and improve technician practices for efficiency in material and labor usage.
- Resolve customer and technician-related issues, including billing disputes and technical problems.
- Assist with hiring, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations of technicians.
- Perform technical services as needed, including service, repair, diagnosis, and equipment replacement.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations relevant to technicians’ work.
- Collaborate with sales and operations managers to ensure proper business practices and complete service jobs within target margins.
- Participate in planning for future improvements in self and team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of HVAC experience.
- 5 years of managerial experience.
- EPA Certification Levels 1 & 2 required.
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills.
