Overview

The IS Technical Services Team Manager is responsible for the execution of Retro-Commissioning and Commissioning services for assigned projects, adhering to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. This role involves collaboration with the entire project delivery team, including engineering and execution project executives, construction management, engineers, and trade partners.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with Company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Mentor and manage assigned team.
  • Develop and update Technical Services Project Execution Plans to meet project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage project forecasts and delivery schedules, integrating tasks with the master project schedule.
  • Participate in project scheduling meetings to resolve conflicts and shortfalls.
  • Ensure a high level of familiarity with project scope adjustments for automation and MEP disciplines.
  • Communicate potential concerns, conflicts, schedule, or budgetary updates to the project engineering executive and construction manager.
  • Track energy performance for assigned scopes throughout the construction phase.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure performance targets are met and maintained.
  • Work with the project team to document and communicate project requirements.
  • Identify and address Design or Construction issues, propose solutions, and escalate constraints to the director, project manager, engineering project executive, and energy manager.
  • Proactively address or escalate constraints to achieving project outcomes and scope completion.
  • Review expense reports and time entries for accuracy, adherence to established budgets, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform project closeout activities, including reporting, project team reviews, turn-over meetings, and lessons learned meetings.
  • Adhere to and exemplify IS Delivery and IS Technical Services process guidelines and SOPs.
  • Uphold Company organizational core values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operation management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Attention to safety.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work with minimal or limited information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE.
  • Building automation systems design and programming experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Intern (EI) certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Climbing stairs.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
