HVAC Mechanical Service Tech Journeyman (union)

About the role

Work Location: Harwood, ND (day‑to‑day work); official Johnson Controls office in Fargo, ND. Open to candidates residing in nearby areas such as Grand Forks, Fargo or Hillsboro.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers and ammonia systems.
• Work on residential, light commercial and/or heavy commercial HVAC systems using advanced heavy commercial and industrial cutting‑edge equipment.
• Scope of work limited to commercial HVACR service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in HVAC plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry (commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience).
• Ability to commit to a 30‑Hour OSHA Certification (to be completed after hours and weekends) upon hire.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Refrigeration Certification.

Pay

Pay Range: $42.83 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
