HVAC Area Service Manager

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Manages Technicians.
  • Supervises and develops technician workforce.
  • Affirms technician productivity.
  • Maintains technician market work level.
  • Handles escalated service issues.
  • Develops training plan for all assigned Technicians.
  • Supports and ensures quality of work for the area.
  • Evaluates and performs annual Technician reviews.
  • Acts as a positive role model for the Technician group.
  • Protects the company's image and reputation.
  • Conducts weekly service meetings.
  • Communicates goals and objectives for assigned area.
  • Provides recognition to top performers.
  • Performs inspections of all vans.
  • Inspects equipment and ensures technicians have proper PPE.
  • Discusses safety topics weekly.
  • Reviews new customer requirements.
  • Oversees callbacks and additional repairs.
  • Receives feedback from Technicians on office scheduling/issues.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years as an HVAC Service Technician, management experience is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge necessary to provide value to technicians and customers.
  • Maintain continuous education in the technical field.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to focus on desired results.
  • Adaptability to very fast-paced environment and deadlines.
  • Clean and professional appearance.
  • Able to lift 100 pounds.
  • Able to pick up and maneuver a 32-foot ladder weighing approximately 96 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders multiple times.
  • Able to haul equipment and tools to roof via ladders.
  • Able to drive extended hours for calls (up to 8-10 hours per day).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience in HVAC Industry or other service business preferred.

  • Effective communication with customers.
  • Ability to resolve concerns locally.
