This role provides experience in:
- Planning HR department workload to support business priorities
- Interpreting financial reporting and employment laws
- Recruiting, event organization, and workforce management
- Using Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software
- Leading, interviewing, developing, coaching, and retaining talent
Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistent, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by training and holding team members accountable to Target’s guest commitments
- Review guest, financial, and team metrics to identify opportunities, drive results, and celebrate wins
- Foster an inclusive environment where diverse voices are valued and equitable experiences are created
- Support leaders in training execution and new team member orientation
- Help develop leaders and promote a guest-centered culture
- Publish compliant schedules that align with business needs and team member availability
- Lead a culture where team members feel heard, issues are resolved quickly, and collaboration is prioritized
- Execute the store staffing strategy and recruiting efforts to hire and onboard skilled candidates
- Deliver HR processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption
- Build community relationships and engage the store team in local initiatives
- Establish clear goals, hold team members accountable, and maximize profitability
- Demonstrate and lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Model physical security processes and support merchandise protection strategies
- Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed
- Address store emergency and compliance needs, including claims management and return-to-work programs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Previous experience using automated scheduling, timekeeping, or workforce management applications preferred
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial/quantitative analysis
- Ability to lead, hold others accountable, and communicate effectively using multiple frequency devices and technology equipment
- Work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and prioritizing tasks
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
- Handle cash register operations as needed
- Frequently lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
- Climb up and down ladders as needed
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and reliable attendance
This is a full-time role, but hours may fluctuate based on business needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
