Job Duties

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Talent Acquisition team by setting clear expectations, aligning goals to the credit union’s mission, and fostering a high-performing, engaged and service-focused culture.
  • Provide ongoing performance management through regular 1:1 discussions, feedback, and coaching to support employee growth, accountability, and results.
  • Empower team members through effective delegation, ensuring clarity of roles, priorities, and progress toward individual and team objectives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruiting process, ensuring consistent, effective hiring practices and well-informed hiring recommendations.
  • Ensure the accuracy, organization, and effective use of the applicant tracking system and related tools in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with leaders to provide guidance on performance management, employee relations, and HR policies, supporting sound and fair people-related decisions.
  • Address employee concerns and support investigations and employee relations matters while promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Assist leaders with job descriptions, performance expectations, and workforce planning to align roles with organizational needs.
  • Monitor compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting strategies, HR processes, and team effectiveness by staying informed of industry trends and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and with external partners to support collaboration, enhance the employee experience, and drive retention and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge, and the ability to apply and interpret, state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to the human resource function including federal and Wisconsin Family Medical Leave, employment practices, and wage and hour laws.
  • A minimum of 5 years human resource experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in recruiting, selecting, interviewing, pre-employment testing, on-boarding, and performance management.
  • High level of hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and IBM Cognos Business Intelligence.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential employee information.
  • Must be bondable.
