Human Resources System Analyst
This position is a 1.0 FTE that supports the Human Resources Department and requires 3 days per week in-person at our District Office in White Bear Lake, MN.
About the Role
This position maintains the integrity and reliability of the district’s HRIS and other systems to ensure applications meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the HR department. Responsibilities include defining, designing, and customizing processes, recommending enhancements and solutions to optimize systems and efficiencies, and identifying problems, needs, and goals through collaboration with HR and other internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensures needs of HR/Payroll departments are met through efficient utilization of systems and defined processes; consults with individuals to recommend task distribution and define procedures and best practices.
- Assesses system utilization, identifying areas for added efficiencies and recommending improvements such as training, customization, creation of tools, and enhancements to maximize value of systems and time.
- Prepares reports and presents findings, making recommendations to HR director and other district leadership.
- Collaborates with business and technology departments and other HR staff to plan, modify, and customize the HRIS and test new applications and features.
- Defines processes and prepares training materials, guides, and documentation, as well as ongoing training and support.
- Facilitates the collection, auditing, and updating of employee data, including pay data, assignment data, and other personnel data, including year-end HR processing (rolling contracts) and open enrollment.
- Oversees reporting processes, including federal and state reporting, providing direction, guidance, and review of final submission of data to reporting agencies.
- Collaborates with HR and District leadership to identify system goals and objectives, research and test solution options, and develop plans to modify or replace HRIS applications, modules, and systems.
- Ensures system and process compliance with local and federal guidelines and bargaining agreements.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience working with HR business systems.
- Experience with Skyward, Red Rover, and/or Education Advanced preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Understanding of system design, lifecycle, and development processes.
- Highly technical understanding of HRIS products.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Understanding of recordkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in computers and related software applications.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related software.
- Ability to work in an agile and flexible work environment.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, use of fingers, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,500 to $88,000 annually, with the starting salary determined based on relevant experience.
