About the role

This position is located at Fort Meade, Maryland for The Defense Information Systems Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Helps regulate officer and enlisted manning and promotions, military education, and the family care program.
  • Manages all military personnel assigned to the Agency.
  • Manages, identifies, and prioritizes officers and enlisted vacancies and assigned billets.
  • Collaborates with respective agencies on dates for promotions, schools, and assignments.
  • Assists employees, technicians, and senior leadership in interpreting regulations to determine eligibility for assignments, promotions, military pay, reductions, and incentives.
  • Develops and maintains an annual schedule of convening board dates, eligibility criteria, and suspenses.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).
  • Must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Qualifications

  • For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
  • Specialized Experience at the GS-12 is defined as reviewing and processing military personnel actions; and advising on military policies, leave, pay, deployment, and duty rosters.
  • Candidates must describe how they meet the specialized experience within the body of their resume.
  • All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

  • No substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.
