About the role

The Human Resources Specialist I role supports HR Service Center operations across Indiana University Health’s statewide workforce. This includes serving as the first point of contact for team members and leaders regarding HR programs, policies, and procedures. The role involves handling high-volume inbound calls and written requests, supporting benefits inquiries, processing Oracle HR transactions, and assisting with onboarding and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for team members and leaders regarding HR programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle high-volume inbound calls and written requests (approximately 40–50 per day).
  • Support benefits inquiries, enrollment processes, and leave program questions.
  • Process and troubleshoot Oracle HR transactions and team member data updates.
  • Aid in onboarding, compliance processes (I-9s, background checks, employment verifications), and system testing.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED.
  • An Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Previous call center experience is preferred.
  • Previous Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) is required.
