About the role

The Human Resources Specialist 1 position serves as a resource in the areas of labor contract administration, staffing/recruitment, selection, classification, and compensation and ensures all employment laws, rules, regulations and collective bargaining agreements are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and interpret information
  • Create written documents such as reports or presentations
  • Use databases to update, track and retrieve information
  • Communicate information to others verbally and in writing
  • Manage hiring and selection processes
  • Perform recruiting or outreach activities
  • Apply collective bargaining agreements and plans

Requirements

  • One year of professional level experience in human resources
  • Two years of paraprofessional/technical experience in human resources or a related field
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting information
  • Experience creating written documents such as reports or presentations
  • Experience using databases to update, track and retrieve information
  • Experience communicating information to others verbally and in writing
  • Experience managing hiring and selection processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or a closely related field
  • Experience working with the State of Minnesota classification and job evaluation system
  • Experience performing recruiting or outreach activities
  • Experience applying collective bargaining agreements and plans

Pay

$26.12 - $37.91 / hourly; $54,538 - $79,156 / annually
