About the role
As a Human Resource Specialist, you will handle operational HR tasks, support frontline managers with HRIS navigation, and ensure critical roles are filled efficiently. You will play a key role in supporting teams so they can focus on the organization’s strategic initiatives and business-related needs.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions using HR management system software.
- Manage pre-employment activities, new employee onboarding, and orientation.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters as needed.
- Complete offboarding activities.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Provide transactional and administrative support to leaders and employees.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
- Organize and introduce internal training.
- Support employees with benefits and payroll-related questions.
- Triage HR issues and escalate to team members for assistance as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience with HR processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HRIS and enterprise software.
- Certified in Development Dimensions International (DDI) or willingness to obtain certification to support training initiatives.

HSEC Accountabilities
All employees are responsible for workplace safety and the safety of their co-workers. Responsibilities include:

- Identifying hazards, unsafe actions, or conditions that could result in injury, environmental impact, or community disruption.
- Following instructions to protect personal and others' health and safety, as well as the environment and community.
- Reporting non-compliance with HSEC requirements to management.
- Avoiding actions or omissions that endanger others.
- Using only equipment you are trained to operate safely and responsibly.
- Participating in HSEC training.
- Reporting all incidents, including injuries, near misses, community impacts, environmental spills, and unsafe practices.
