About the Role

Coordinate the full recruiting lifecycle from identifying vacant positions, attracting, hiring, and onboarding to retention of quality talent. This is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Human Resources Director.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with managers to understand the agency’s hiring needs and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
  • Partner with senior leaders and the Human Resources Director to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies.
  • Improve agency attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and compensation, and emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Manage the intern program, including coordinating orientations, schedules, assignments, and advising managers on training and coaching.
  • Stay active on job boards, social networks, and platforms to source talent, and plan, create, and release postings and announcements.
  • Source candidates using multiple recruiting channels and innovative strategies to build a robust candidate pipeline.
  • Screen resumes, evaluate and interview candidates, and manage the hiring process from interview preparation to final offer negotiation.
  • Maintain a database of candidate records, including active and passive prospects, hired and terminated employees.
  • Follow up on interview process status and update records.
  • Perform reference and background checks according to regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Training Coordinator to manage new hire onboarding and required trainings.
  • Conduct exit interviews and discuss findings with senior leaders as needed.
  • Generate and present quarterly recruitment and retention reports to the HR Director and Leadership Team.
  • Evaluate job descriptions by discussing requirements and qualifications with managers and recommend revisions.
  • Administer the Employee Referral Bonus, Sign-On Bonus, Longevity Bonus, and other reimbursement programs.
  • Ensure screening, hiring, and selection comply with employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the agency’s orientation program to ensure all staff attend within the prescribed time frame.
  • Assist the Human Resources Director in the daily administration of other HR functions as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; three years’ experience in recruitment or personnel-related functions (or equivalent experience and education).
  • SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, database management, ATS, and HRIS systems.
  • Proven experience conducting various types of interviews (phone, video, etc.) and screening methods.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in an office setting and is primarily sedentary, requiring sitting for long periods.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for computer use.
  • Involves sitting, standing, walking, typing, turning, stooping, and reaching for files.
  • Ability to receive and respond to phone calls and engage in face-to-face conversations.
  • Ability to read and interact with text and graphical information on screens, forms, and printouts.
  • Ability to use office equipment such as copiers, scanners, computers, telephones, and fax machines.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
