About the role
Due to growth, we're looking for a Human Resources & Payroll Manager to join our team based in Nashville, TN. The role offers a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, and 401(k) offerings.
- Draft, update, and maintain HR policies, employee handbook content, procedures, forms, and workflows.
- Cook up performance review cycles across Apex locations and ensure timely completion by managers.
- Address employee concerns, complaints, and workplace issues with professionalism, fairness, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
- Cook up onboarding and orientation for new hires and support a consistent introduction to Apex policies and expectations.
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Cook up payroll processing to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll administration across Apex operations.
Requirements
- Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, payroll, and people operations.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, labor law compliance, performance management, and payroll processes.
- Experience supporting multi-location and/or multi-state operations.
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and professional business documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Nice to have skills:
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable HR certification.
- Experience in construction, skilled trades, field operations, or another fast-moving operational environment.
