About the role

The Human Resources Manager provides strategic HR field support for Delta’s Reservations and Customer Care teams across the United States. This role acts as a business partner, ensuring consistent delivery of HR services such as coaching, sourcing, performance management, compensation, and organizational development. The HR Manager balances employee advocacy with company policy, leads organizational change, and drives process improvements while fostering positive employee relations and compliance with applicable laws.

This position requires up to 40% travel, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and meet client needs through strategic HR support.
  • Execute HR service delivery systems and create integrated solutions for business challenges.
  • Serve as an employee and company advocate, balancing decision-making with policy and legal considerations.
  • Develop relationships with employees, leaders, and groups to communicate policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Provide leadership in organizational change, process consultation, and development.
  • Influence management decisions with HR expertise, focusing on positive employee relations and compliance.
  • Lead or represent corporate projects, manage timelines, and collaborate with cross-divisional teams.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to promote a safety-conscious environment for employee well-being.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of HR Manager experience supporting a business unit (or equivalent).
  • General knowledge of HR disciplines with technical competence in at least three of the following: compensation, benefits, employment, employee/labor relations, training/development, EEO, or organizational development.
  • Up to 40% travel, including overnight stays.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and influence decision-making.
  • Strong management presence, platform/presentation skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old with U.S. work authorization.
  • Commitment to prioritizing safety, security, and diversity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
  • PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
