Lead and execute HR strategies across multiple manufacturing and industrial facilities throughout the Midwest, supporting approximately 800 employees with continued growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational HR leadership for multiple manufacturing facilities across the Midwest region.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 3-4 HR Generalists to ensure consistent execution of HR programs and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary HR business partner to site leadership teams, supporting workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement efforts.
- Manage union and labor relations activities, including contract administration, grievance resolution, collective bargaining support, and relationship management with union representatives.
- Partner with operations leaders to address employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
- Drive talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership development, and retention strategies across all facilities.
- Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends and develop proactive solutions that improve organizational performance.
- Coordinate compensation, benefits, performance management, and annual talent review processes.
- Support change management initiatives related to growth, operational improvements, workforce transitions, and organizational restructuring.
- Lead employee engagement programs and continuous improvement initiatives focused on culture, safety, communication, and inclusion.
- Partner with safety, operations, and leadership teams to foster a positive employee experience and maintain a productive work environment.
- Manage HR budgets, vendor relationships, and HR-related projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field required.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or unionized environment.
- 3+ years of HR leadership experience managing HR professionals across multiple locations.
- Strong labor relations experience, including grievance management, contract interpretation, and union partnership.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large employee populations in multi-site environments.
- Knowledge of employment law, labor law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and talent management practices.
- Strong leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Experience driving organizational change and partnering with senior operational leaders.
- Ability to travel throughout the Midwest region as needed.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Pay
Competitive base salary: $120,000 - $140,000 + bonus + car allowance. Annual performance bonus opportunity.
