About the Role
Manages diverse human resources functions including recruitment, employee onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and policy implementation. Serves as a link between management and employees to boost a positive work environment and ensure smooth operation of HR processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
- Administers compensation, benefits, and performance management systems programs for all teammates at the plant.
- Identifies staff vacancies and collaborates with managers/talent acquisition team for candidate selection.
- Conducts new employee orientation.
- Monitors compliance with all state and federally mandated leaves of absences/accommodation policies and programs (FMLA, USERRA, ADA).
- Partners with union bargaining committees to help manage labor relations and contract administration.
- Assists with understaffing, managing disputes, and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Analyzes training needs and drafts salaried and hourly HR-related employee development plans.
- Leverages existing/available technologies and data to enhance HR data and reporting through the IT department.
- Organizes culture-enhancing events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; Human Resources is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a human resources role; manufacturing industry preferred.
- Some experience using/exposure to Human Resources Information Systems; experience working with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Human Resources laws, including Affirmative Action/EEOC requirements, DOL laws, recruitment, and selection.
- High ethical standards.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to focus time on the most important and urgent issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills to interact with internal team members and external customers.
- Goal-oriented, aggressive self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality who can make strategic decisions with a sense of velocity and urgency.
Work Environment
Typical administrative/office environment: no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 lb. of force occasionally.
