About the role

Seneca Foods is one of North America's leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables with facilities located throughout the United States. Our high quality products are primarily sourced from over 1,400 American farms. Seneca holds the largest share of the retail private label, food service, and export canned vegetable markets, distributing to over 90 countries. Products are also sold under the brands of Libby’s®, Aunt Nellie’s®, READ®, Seneca Farms®, Green Valley®, Green Giant®, CherryMan®, Paradise®, Pennant®, and Seneca labels, including Seneca snack chips. Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Management and administration of HR policies and procedures
• Recruit, interview and select qualified applicants for open positions
• Administer the Seneca Employee Benefits program at the plant level
• Administer Safety and Worker's Compensation programs
• Conduct new employee orientations
• Conduct required HR/Legal Compliance training for all employees
• Ensure that employee files and documentation are maintained
• Responsible for completion/maintenance of Affirmative Action Compliance Plan
• Records and files documentation of employee evaluations and development
• Conduct wage surveys
• Coordinate the employee evaluation process
• Conduct exit interviews and prepare employee separation documents
• Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills - verbal, listening, written and computer
• Ability to maintain confidentiality. Act with good judgement
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Possess good interpersonal skills. Able to relate to all levels of employees
• College Degree and/or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training in human resource functions
• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office products
