We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide on-site HR leadership for a manufacturing workforce in Concord, North Carolina. This long-term contract position will act as the central HR contact for roughly 80 employees, supporting both hourly and salaried team members across daily people operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing for a mixed hourly and salaried employee population, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper recordkeeping.
- Lead day-to-day human resources support for approximately 80 employees, serving as a trusted resource for managers and staff.
- Work closely with production leaders to address workforce needs, resolve employee concerns, and provide practical guidance on HR matters.
- Manage recruiting activities for detail-focused and salaried openings, including coordination of sourcing, interviewing, and hiring steps.
- Support onboarding efforts that help new hires transition successfully into the organization and understand workplace expectations.
- Handle employee relations issues with professionalism, including coaching support, policy clarification, and documentation of key discussions.
- Maintain HR files, personnel documentation, and compliance-related records in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to engagement and retention efforts by promoting a supportive, employee-centered workplace culture.
- Participate in cross-training activities to assume payroll ownership smoothly and sustain continuity in HR operations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a Human Resources Manager, HR Business Partner, or senior-level HR Generalist capacity.
- Demonstrated hands-on payroll processing experience using ADP or a comparable payroll platform.
- Background supporting both hourly and salaried employee groups within a business setting.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruitment for exempt, detail-focused, or salaried positions.
- Strong employee relations skills with the ability to advise leaders and handle sensitive workplace matters effectively.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an approachable style.
- Manufacturing, production, or industrial HR experience is strongly preferred, including partnership with operations leadership or support for extended-shift environments.
