About the role

Mittera is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. This role involves hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, and worker’s compensation, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the Business Unit’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly regarding talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive HR issues, including reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate and the Business Unit.
  • Oversee the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for production and administrative roles; collaborate with departmental managers to identify required skills and competencies.
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, policies, or company updates.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives for employee growth.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies to ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in talent management and employment law.
  • Assist in maintaining facility OSHA compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This is not a remote position; candidates must be on-site during their shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certifications highly desired.
  • Previous HR experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to develop and execute HR strategies in partnership with business leaders.
  • Ability to interpret state and federal employment statutes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-autonomy and self-motivation.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility.
