About the role

The Las Vegas, NV office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 law firm, seeks a Human Resources Manager to foster a positive and productive work environment through effective conflict resolution, promptly addressing employee concerns, and ensuring continual compliance with HR policies and employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with firm management to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and morale, and ensure consistent application of policy and procedure, particularly with respect to federal, state, and local laws.
  • Partner with firm managers on day-to-day human resources issues, providing prompt attention to requests and ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up.
  • Utilize expertise to provide guidance to firm managers regarding employee concerns, complaints, and conflicts, and develop effective processes for resolving these issues while maintaining confidentiality and promoting a respectful workplace.
  • Provide input into annual performance evaluation processes, including collaborating with other members of the HR team to effectively communicate with managers and employees about the process, and aiding in the delivery of performance results.
  • Aid managers with requests for staff promotions, relocations, or other transfers, including obtaining business reasoning for the change, securing appropriate approvals, and liaising with other members of the HR team and/or departments to implement the change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study coupled with a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and/or disciplinary processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire trust and confidence to effectively engage with employees across all levels of the firm, including leadership.
  • Exceptional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally within the firm.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
