Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day HR operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with Operations to support employee relations, staffing, performance management, compliance, safety, and workforce development while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees and helps foster a positive, productive, and compliant workplace culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and employees.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, harassment, discrimination, and misconduct.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors on employee performance, discipline, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Coach managers on employee development and performance expectations.
  • Review corrective actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and termination recommendations.
  • Support annual performance review processes.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
  • Coordinate interviews, hiring decisions, and onboarding activities.
  • Ensure all new hire documentation is completed accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation.
  • Partner with the Safety Department to support workplace safety initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Identify training needs across departments.
  • Support leadership development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records.
  • Assist with organizational planning and workforce strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other departments.
  • Mentor HR team members.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that improve business operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of recruiting and talent engagement experience in a fast-paced environment in manufacturing or food production.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Experience with performance management and employee relations.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paylocity experience preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including hot, cold, and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and climb stairs as necessary throughout the workday.

Compensation

$80,000 – $105,000 annually. Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position.
