Responsibilities
- Partner closely with leadership, managers, and team members to strengthen relationships, build morale, improve productivity, and drive retention.
- Owes and manages all day-to-day HR operations for the venue, balancing strategic initiatives with immediate people needs.
- Owns and manages the full recruitment lifecycle for supervisory and management roles, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, hiring recommendations, etc.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, programs, and workplace concerns.
- Conducts thorough and objective workplace investigations and provides clear reporting and recommendations to Cosm HR Leadership and the General Manager.
- Oversees all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions, job changes, recognition program, leaves of absence, relocations, immigration matters, terminations, and exit processes.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations (e.g., Wage & Hour, OSHA, EEO, ERISA), proactively identifying risk and reinforcing a strong culture of compliance.
- Administers the annual performance review process and coaches leaders on effective performance management, feedback, and employee development.
- Serves as the initial point of contact for benefits-related questions and supports employee understanding of available programs.
- Oversees and enhances employee recognition programs that reinforce performance, engagement, and Cosm’s values.
- Reviews and approves employee transitions including hires, transfers, and promotions.
- Oversees new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong, consistent, and engaging employee experience.
- Serves as the on-site HR contact for payroll issues, partnering with the General Manager and department leaders to submit accurate weekly payroll and maintain compliance.
- Promotes employee engagement and culture initiatives across the venue.
- Demonstrates exceptional organization, responsiveness, and professionalism, with the ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs and priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field
- 8-10 years of progressive human resources experience, with increasing scope and accountability
- Experience should be within fast-paced, operational environments such as hospitality, entertainment, retail, or venue-based organizations preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated success serving as an HR leader and/or HR Business Partner for a business unit, location, division, and/or team, owning end-to-end people cycle, rather than operating solely in a support capacity
- Proven ability to function at a senior level of judgment, influence, and strategic thinking, while operating with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, and the ability and willingness to have a deep involvement in day-to-day HR operations
- Deep expertise in employee relations, performance management, investigations, and compliance, with the maturity to navigate complex, sensitive, and high-impact people matters
- Demonstrated experience leading the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, investigations, and exits
- Solid working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with a proactive approach to risk management and building a culture of compliance
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, manage conflict, and engage effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Highly organized, execution-focused, and resilient, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a dynamic, high-growth environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong Excel working knowledge required; experience with HRIS systems

Benefits
The annualized base salary range for this position in Michigan is $95,000 to $135,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
