About the role
The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in driving the company's people strategy and supporting the business. They partner closely with plant leadership and employees to foster a high-performance culture focused on employee engagement, talent development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Champion site culture by embedding Safety, Integrity, and Inclusion and reinforcing Customer Centricity, Interconnectedness, and Continuous Improvement across all employee interactions and processes
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in partnership with centralized HR and Compliance teams; apply HR policies consistently
- Lead workforce planning, recruiting, and onboarding, partnering with Talent Acquisition and site leaders to build strong internal and external talent pipelines
- Coach and train leaders on performance management, employee development, and accountability practices
- Oversee employee relations and investigations, resolving issues timely and appropriately in collaboration with HR leadership and Compliance
- Partner with Learning & Development, Talent Management and Operations to deliver role-based training, succession planning, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., TWI, 5S, problem solving)
- Drive employee engagement and communication strategies, including survey action planning and site-wide communications
- Support payroll, time & attendance, leave administration, HRIS accuracy, and enforce compensation strategies
- Partner with EHS and leadership to strengthen safety culture, support DEI initiatives, manage HR metrics, budgets, and termination practices
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or production environment, plus 2 years in HR leadership.
- Knowledge: - Employment and labor laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.). - Benefits administration, including annual enrollment, life status changes, COBRA, etc.
- Systems: Experience with HRIS (Dayforce preferred); strong technical skills in MS Office Suite; SmartSheets experience is an asset.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule to ensure HR support across multiple shifts.
- Work Environment: Standard manufacturing office setting, with regular navigation of the production floor. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in manufacturing areas.
