Job Tasks
- Manages the club’s personnel program; assists in the development and implementation of applicable policies and procedures; processes various labor staffing reports; coordinates software applications to generate required information.
- Administers the club’s Seasonal and International staff recruitment (H-2B program) from local advertising, local international agency and immigration attorneys’ liaison, housing agency liaison, staff onboarding, coordinating transportation once interns arrive in country.
- Administers the club’s Employee 401k Retirement Savings Plan including ensuring the plan follows standard IRS rules and regulations, work with legal documents, perform analyses and tests, and monitor plan operations – scheduling and facilitating open enrollment meetings and educational meetings.
- Develops and places recruitment ads; plans recruitment strategies; screens applicants and makes hiring recommendations.
- Counsels and advises line managers about discipline, discharge and related employment matters.
- Provides general property orientation for new employees; assists in the development and implementation of inter-department orientation and training programs.
- Manages the club’s group insurance, unemployment and related benefits programs; communicates benefits information to staff.
- Undertakes special projects relating to job description and specification updates, performance appraisal improvements, wage and salary comparison surveys, long-range staff planning and other personnel issues.
- Keeps abreast of laws and regulations relating to employees; assures compliance with these laws and regulations; advises club managers as necessary.
- Creates and maintains organizational charts.
- Benchmarking the club’s employee recruitment and selection processes with others in the industry and exploring new strategies as appropriate.
- Establishes employee motivation and retention programs.
- Organizes employee activities such as the holiday party and other outings as appropriate.
- Organizes employee recognition functions.
- Compiles and adheres to departmental budget; takes corrective actions as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met.
- Oversees all work-related injury claims to ensure integrity, on-going case management and reporting compliance.
- Performs special projects as assigned by the general manager.
- Works with payroll personnel to assure that all forms required of new employees are completed.
- Conducts preliminary employment interview with employee applicants.
- Heads and coordinates all employee relations committee on regular, scheduled basis i.e. Health Awareness Committee and Workplace Safety Committee.
- Maintains OSHA-related logs and reports.
- Coordinates, monitors and suggests improvements for the club’s employee performance appraisal system.
- Maintains employee bulletin boards.
- Schedules and conducts club-wide employee safety meetings.
- Maintains eligible driver report for all club vehicles.
- Administers background checks for employee applicants.
- Interacts with general manager and department heads to investigate employee violations of club policies and to recommend correction actions, if necessary.
- Interacts with club’s attorney relative to personnel legal issues involving concerns about EEOC, harassment and lawsuits.
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
- Develops personnel-related reports for the general manager or department heads.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are may vary each week. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. This position regularly requires long hours, and work done during holidays.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources and employee relations skills.
- Hospitality experience a plus.
