Core Responsibilities

  • Adapts and implements the global and regional HR strategy within the area of responsibility
  • Implements global and regional policies and programs; adapts if necessary, according to local needs
  • Develops and improves local HR policies and programs addressing internal and external changes/challenges
  • Conducts an anticipatory recruitment to ensure adequate staffing in terms of quantity and quality; manages local staffing needs (permanent and temporary)
  • Ensures competitive compensation and benefit packages according to internal policies and regulations as well as labor law and council/union agreements; optimizes personnel costs considering aspects such as productivity, profitability and job satisfaction
  • Ensures the continuous qualification of employees by developing concepts and organizing respective trainings
  • Advise on organizational structures and changes and supports reorganizations
  • Ensures the timely and adequate processing of the monthly payroll settlement including the related time management and administration processes
  • Ensures accurate and timely KPI and performance reporting. Derives and initiates permanent corrective actions in case of deviations and monitors the implementation and effectiveness
  • Ensures professional support of supervisors and employees concerning HR related issues
  • Advise Management Team concerning HR topics
  • Participates and/or leads global/regional projects/ initiatives
  • Supports expatriate and inpatriate management
  • Cooperates with external organizations and public authorities
  • Establishes and maintains an effective, efficient and motivated HR workforce, organization and processes
  • Promotes a respectful work environment and recruits, develops and retains human resources to maintain a qualified, motivated and productive workforce.
  • Led by example and lives up to Benteler’s mission, values and global leadership principles
  • Uses standard HR tools e.g. the appraisal process to provide regular feedback and agree upon tasks and goals with respective employees
  • Provides support to all activities assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Manage KPIs: FTE number, Voluntary turnover rate and Overtime Cost
  • Apply cost reduction strategies to generate savings, related to HRD
  • Determine disciplinary measures for personnel based on RIT and LFT
  • Authorize expenses related to personnel (payroll increases, events, training, compensation, etc.) according to budget and established policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a Human Resources related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Broad experience, 5 or more years in a manufacturing industry, in a leadership role
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as SAP (HCM module), LMS and Success Factors preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to analyze and resolve critical situations and make effective and timely decisions
