Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota-based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry dating back to 1970. Known for sturdy cultivators, efficient shredders, and niche equipment such as cover crop seeders and NH3 monitors, Hiniker also designs and manufactures high-quality snow removal equipment, including the Hiniker C-Plow, Scoop Plow, spreaders, and skid steer plows. In 2024, Hiniker expanded its offerings with the acquisition of Daniels Plows.

About the role

We are seeking an onsite Human Resources Manager with experience in the manufacturing industry. This hands-on role involves directing routine HR functions, including talent acquisition, payroll, employee benefits, performance management, and compensation programs. The HR Manager will actively engage in employee relations, training, safety, conflict resolution, and investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fiscal year staffing plans in collaboration with departmental managers.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and create new ones for recruitment.
  • Publish open positions internally and externally; manage the interview process through onboarding.
  • Develop and implement employee retention plans; monitor turnover data to identify trends and recommend strategies.
  • Partner with the team to develop succession planning, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and trends.
  • Develop reward strategies to motivate employees, increase engagement, and reduce turnover.
  • Work with benefit providers to communicate plan design options and changes; conduct annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Conduct benefit overviews during new hire orientations; administer payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
  • Provide payroll data support to the financial team.
  • Evaluate employee performance programs for effectiveness; ensure timely completion of appraisals.
  • Propose and implement improvements to the evaluation process; review and evaluate ongoing training content.
  • Work with supervisors to define and develop job training aids; assist with sourcing training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain current knowledge of local, state, federal, and provincial regulations.
  • Demonstrate and promote safety practices throughout the workplace; ensure OSHA compliance for the manufacturing industry.
  • Identify areas for safety improvement and implement necessary changes; define safety training materials and schedules.
  • Promote a safety-minded organizational culture.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive pay programs to attract and retain talent.
  • Create learning and development programs to provide internal growth opportunities.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Promote employee growth through learning, mentoring, and coaching; handle discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. A high school diploma or GED with equivalent work experience is acceptable.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the human resources field.
  • Experience with workplace investigations, conflict management, employee grievances, and discipline.
  • Human Resources certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are strongly desired.

Pay

$80,000–$110,000 yearly salary.
