We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Director to lead a broad range of people operations in Nashville, Tennessee. This role will guide employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR administration, and compliance efforts while helping create a consistent and supportive workplace environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound judgment, and a practical approach to aligning HR practices with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s human resources strategy across employee relations, benefits oversight, compensation programs, and core HR operations.
  • Provide guidance on workplace concerns, performance matters, and policy interpretation to support fair and consistent employee outcomes.
  • Direct the administration of benefits offerings and partner with vendors to maintain effective and compliant programs.
  • Oversee compensation planning and advise leadership on pay practices that support retention, equity, and organizational goals.
  • Establish, review, and update HR policies and procedures to strengthen compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage daily HR administration, including documentation standards, recordkeeping, and process improvements across the employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with senior leaders to address workforce challenges, support organizational planning, and improve employee engagement.
  • Monitor HR risks and recommend corrective actions or program enhancements to maintain operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading human resources functions at a senior level, preferably in a director capacity.
  • Strong background in employee relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, and policy application.
  • Hands-on knowledge of benefits administration and compensation practices.
  • Solid understanding of HR compliance requirements and employment-related regulations.
  • Experience overseeing HR operations, processes, and documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to build trust with leadership and employees through clear communication and sound decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
