About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner for a contract position based in California. This role will serve as a key resource for leave administration, benefits coordination, employee records oversight, and day-to-day compliance activities during a contract coverage period.
Responsibilities
- Oversee employee leave programs, including protected leave, workplace accommodations, workers’ compensation coordination, and other absence-related matters from intake through resolution.
- Maintain complete and accurate leave documentation while ensuring practices align with applicable federal, state, and company requirements.
- Support benefits administration by handling enrollments, updates, and employee questions with a service-focused approach.
- Manage employee information within the HR system, including data entry, record updates, and ongoing file accuracy.
- Enter and maintain onboarding details for new hires and ensure personnel records are organized, current, and compliant.
- Prepare HR letters, forms, and other employment-related documents while safeguarding sensitive information.
- Partner with employees and supervisors to communicate leave timelines, documentation needs, and accommodation-related updates.
- Provide general HR administrative support and assist with routine tasks that help maintain smooth department operations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Human Resources experience, with direct exposure to leave administration, employee relations, or HR operations.
- Working knowledge of leave and accommodation practices, including FMLA, ADA, and broader leave of absence processes.
- Experience supporting benefits-related activities and responding to employee questions on coverage and changes.
- Proficiency with UKG and confidence maintaining employee records and onboarding data within an HRIS.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with a customer-service mindset.
- High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential employee information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
