About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist II will support processes related to student employment, employee onboarding, and I-9 compliance.
Responsibilities
- 50% - Student Employment Lead:
- Resolve and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Stay abreast of regulations and update processes as needed.
- Coordinate and provide training for new HR Contact processors in divisions for student processing.
- Conduct training sessions on various topics related to student processing.
- Advise faculty, staff, and business services team members on processes, procedures, and services, serving as a subject matter expert and technical resource.
- Continuously engage with department contacts to ensure understanding of processes and provide support.
- Serve as Organization Partner in Workday to create and manage supervisory organizations.
- 35% - I-9 Compliance:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with I-9 requirements for employees.
- Serve as Employment Eligibility Verification expert for Texas A&M Engineering, including acting as Guardian Administrator and I-9 Partner in Workday.
- Train CHR and departmental representatives on the completion of the Form I-9 and compliance regarding federal requirements.
- Complete Form I-9, E-Verify submission, manage expiring work authorizations, and retain Form I-9 for active and terminated employees.
- 15% - Other Duties:
- Provide personal data management support as needed.
- Support conducting background checks and verifying educational qualifications for new hires.
- Plan and execute team-building events, recognition programs, and social initiatives.
- Collect event participation data and survey feedback to identify trends and improve future programming.
- Provide staff classification and compensation support as needed.
- Serve as backup for faculty processing actions.
- Assist with tracking the onboarding budget, including purchasing necessary materials and resources for new hires.
- Provide support and resources to new employees to enhance their onboarding experience.
- Deliver excellent customer service while assisting stakeholders with HR-related processes, procedures, and services to build the Engineering culture.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of related experience.
