Human Resources Generalist
Location: Broadway State Office Building, 221 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101
Semi-monthly salary: $2,365.19 (annual salary: $56,764.56). Individual(s) selected may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g., shift or time-of-service pay).

Responsibilities
- Conduct background checks for DSS IT division contractors.
- Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes within the DSS IT division, including:
- Preparing job announcements and posting vacant positions.
- Reviewing applicant eligibility and hiring recommendations.
- Issuing appointment letters and processing new hire documents.
- Create and maintain physical and electronic employment records.
- Process payroll and other actions in SAMII HR.
- Review Outside Employment Requests, Work Schedule Change Requests, and Disclosure of Relatives forms.
- Audit I-9’s and assist with the overall functions of the Personnel Unit.
- Perform other personnel duties such as conducting applicant searches in MO Careers.
- Provide support to DSS employees regarding all matters related to HR.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
- Attendance and dependability are a must.
- Experience working independently and in a team environment to achieve goals.
- Highly motivated with a desire to ensure DSS employees are supported while at work.
- Knowledge of the State of Missouri’s organizational structure, principles and practices of human resources, and personnel administration concepts.
- Experience working in MO Careers and SAMII HR systems.
