About the role
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join a contract assignment supporting HR operations in Bloomington, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage sensitive employee information, coordinate payroll-related activities, and keep core HR processes running smoothly with minimal oversight. The position offers an opportunity to contribute across onboarding, leave administration, documentation, and HR systems work within the energy and natural resources sector.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate payroll input and submission activities, including support for contingent workforce payroll processing, to help ensure timely and accurate pay administration.
- Maintain employee records within the HRIS by entering new employee details, status changes, compensation updates, and other personnel transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing system records, organizing required documentation, and helping new employees complete initial employment steps.
- Assist with leave administration by tracking requests, updating records, and helping employees and managers navigate required processes and documentation.
- Prepare employment-related documents such as offer letters and related correspondence in alignment with internal standards and policies.
- Review payroll and human resources data regularly to identify inconsistencies, correct errors, and improve overall record accuracy.
- Monitor HRIS data quality to ensure employee information remains complete, consistent, and usable for downstream payroll and reporting activities.
- Partner with external payroll or HR system contacts when process support is needed, while retaining responsibility for internal data entry and record maintenance.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in human resources with strong exposure to generalist responsibilities in a fast-paced business environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with HRIS platforms and payroll systems, with ADP experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of payroll coordination, employee data maintenance, onboarding administration, and leave-of-absence processes.
- Ability to audit records carefully, investigate discrepancies, and maintain a high standard of data integrity across HR systems.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail when handling confidential employee information and time-sensitive tasks.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of day-to-day HR support activities.
- Background in HR administration, onboarding, benefits-related support, and employee lifecycle documentation.
