We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support a broad range of people operations activities in East Granby, Connecticut. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can balance day-to-day HR administration with strong employee support and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Support daily human resources operations, including employee documentation, record maintenance, and response to routine HR inquiries.
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, prepare employment paperwork, and lead orientation sessions to ensure a smooth start.
- Assist with benefits administration by helping employees understand available programs, processing related updates, and resolving enrollment questions.
- Partner with managers and employees on workplace concerns, providing guidance on employee relations matters and helping address performance or conduct issues.
- Maintain accurate information within HRIS and payroll-related systems, including updates in platforms such as Workday.
- Contribute to employee engagement efforts by helping organize programs, communications, and initiatives that support a positive work culture.
- Prepare reports and track HR data using Excel and other tools to support audits, workforce planning, and operational decision-making.
- Help ensure HR practices remain aligned with company policies, employment guidelines, and internal procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or closely related HR support role.
- Practical knowledge of employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits coordination.
- Experience working with HRIS, human resources management systems, and payroll-related platforms.
- Familiarity with Workday and confidence navigating employee data and system updates.
- Ability to conduct orientation for new employees and communicate HR information clearly and professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking information, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
