About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist provides daily HR support to the facility in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This includes recruiting hourly and salaried employees, managing the new hire onboarding process, benefits administration, and employee record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly and salaried positions to meet plant production requirements.
  • Manage co-op student program, including on-campus recruiting, onboarding, and off-boarding.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and develop and implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Oversee disciplinary and termination activities in partnership with plant supervision.
  • Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of HR tasks, including compensation reviews, performance evaluations, and benefits administration.
  • Manage the administration of FMLA, including determining eligibility, notification, tracking, and the second and third opinion process when applicable.
  • Responsible for implementation of Affirmative Action plans, policies, practices, and records.
  • Manage company relationships with recruiting sources and the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services.
  • Utilize best recruiting practices to reduce plant turnover and overall recruiting costs.
  • Administer and track training records, coordinate and schedule training, and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Access, input, and export information from plant computer systems and the learning management system (LMS).
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company.
  • Work assigned schedule and flexible hours to provide training to off shifts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field. MS or MBA degree is highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resources or related role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading people and obtaining results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.

    • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
    • Experience in a union environment.

Schedule

This position requires a hybrid shift of 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with flexible hours to provide training to off shifts as needed.
