About the Role

Pratt Industries – a sustainable packaging company – is seeking an HR Generalist to work closely with the HR manager and support HR initiatives for the Wapakoneta Corrugator.

Responsibilities

  • Handle HR-related duties for the Wapakoneta Corrugator.
  • Work closely with the HR manager to identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies.
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, FMLA, vacation, and paid leaves.
  • Assist the HR manager in investigating employee relations issues, including hotline reports, with a focus on timely resolution.
  • Maintain and administer personnel files and records as required by state and federal laws, including I-9s.
  • Process biweekly payroll with payroll analyst support and guidance.
  • Run monthly reports such as overtime and vacation accrual.
  • Balance multiple commitments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in daily and weekly meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources, payroll, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements, business trends, professional journals, regulatory laws, and policies.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
