About the role

Hobart, a division of ITW Food Equipment Group, is seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support across all areas of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, training, HRIS/payroll, benefits, compliance, safety, and employee engagement. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, helping to ensure consistency, compliance, and a positive workplace culture while aligning HR practices with business goals.

What You Will Do

  • Leads the overall recruiting process including but not limited to: scoping roles, sourcing applicants, interviewing candidates, and complying with record keeping requirements.
  • PARTNERS WITH HIRING MANAGERS TO SCREEN CANDIDATES, CONDUCT INTERVIEWS, AND SELECT BEST FIT TALENT FOR OPEN POSITIONS
  • DRIVES CONTINUOUS LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THROUGH THE CREATION, ADMINISTRATION, AND DELIVERY OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS.
  • FUNDS AS AN ADVISOR TO PLANT MANAGEMENT REGARDING THE APPLICATION OF EMPLOYMENT LAW AND COMPANY POLICIES TO SPECIFIC BUSINESS DECISIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT.
  • ORGANIZES, CONDUCTS, AND CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVES NEW EMPLOYEE ONBOARDING; CREATES A POSITIVE FIRST EXPERIENCE OF THE COMPANY.
  • DRIVES POSITIVE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE WITH EMPHASIS ON SAFETY, THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE, AND CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAMWORK.
  • MANTAINS ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE EMPLOYEE RELATED DATA IN HRIS AND OTHER APPLICABLE SYSTEMS/FILES.
  • MANTAINS KNOWLEDGE OF LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND GOVERNMENT REPORTING REGULATIONS AFFECTING HUMAN RESOURCES FUNCTIONS AND ENSURES POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND REPORTING ARE COMPLIANT.
  • RESPONDS TO INQUIRIES REGARDING BENEFIT PROGRAMS, POLICY ADMINISTRATION, ETC. AND EDUCATES AND SUPPORTS EMPLOYEES IN THE USE OF THE SELF-SERVICE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE TO THEM.
  • MANAGES THE ADMINISTRATION OF STD, LTD, AND FMLA.
  • OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Qualifications

Education And Experience

  • Associates degree required, BS Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related discipline preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • General knowledge of HR laws, i.e., FMLA, HR compliance, etc.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of HRIS
  • Strong technical skills/aptitude and proficiency in MS Office programs
