Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service when managing HR email address and incoming calls as the primary contact for HR inquiries
- Administer leave of absences, including FMLA, ADA and other applicable regulations
- Administer multiple benefits programs, including LA state parochial retirement plan
- Administer other various HR processes and programs for all employees
- Lead and/or assist with company-wide HR events and initiatives
- Manage all data timely and accurately in the HRIS
- Aid employees and managers in answering questions related to any and all areas of Human Resources (compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, systems, etc)
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs
- Absorb and implement the organization’s vision, mission, and values
- Comply with organizational policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field preferred
- At least two (2) years of human resources experience required
- Previous HR experience in a healthcare/hospital setting preferred
- HRCI and/or SHRM certification preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications, including but not limited to Microsoft office suite
- Knowledge of benefits regulations, plan designs and compliant administration
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws involving employment, HR and benefits
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels throughout the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision
- Ability to perform most essential job duties independently and exercise good judgment
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
