About the role

The Human Resources Generalist will address Human Resources concerns within their respective branch. This individual will focus on supporting the human capital element of the business and mitigating risk to the branch while also supporting its operational efficiencies. The role is key in shifting the HR mindset from a reactive, employee-relations-only function to a positive, proactive, collaborative, solution-based team that is integral to the business. The goal is to help branch management teams become better leaders, create better work environments, and ensure CTDI is an employer of choice.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with branch leadership to support and address site business initiatives, issues, and challenges.
  • Support daily HR operations of the branch—processing status changes, tracking attendance, resolving Kronos issues, etc.
  • Address lower-grade employee relations matters (e.g., attendance, performance management, conduct) ensuring documentation is consistent, thorough, and accurate.
  • Support the HR Manager in conducting higher-grade investigations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee HR concerns by answering questions and providing guidance (e.g., payroll, health plan options during open enrollment, vacation policy).
  • Support the Workforce Operations Recruitment Team and Branch Ambassador to ensure a smooth new employee experience, including proper new hire documentation collection and submission.
  • Assist the HR Manager in compiling branch People Metrics (e.g., turnover, issues, safety) and work with the Regional General Manager to develop solutions.
  • Suggest training needs (e.g., leadership, safety, employee relations, sexual harassment) to the Regional General Manager.
  • Assist in implementing new policies, procedures, and protocols under the direction of the HR Manager.
  • Process payroll change notices (PCNs) and updates in UltiPro as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Exposure to different HR areas of specialization (e.g., Total Rewards, Talent Management).
  • Proficient in handling employee relations issues while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Understanding of State and Federal employment laws.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and decision-making with a strategic approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating communication, motivation, and influence with individuals.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, adept at prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (e.g., testing and repair), or forward logistics operation.
  • Experience working with UKG and Kronos.
  • Experience working with temporary staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Schedule

This position operates in a warehouse environment. May require travel.

Work authorization: United States (Required). Must be 18 years of age.
