About the role

The HR Generalist supports the Durham plant in executing its strategy and achieving business objectives by managing the hiring process, educating leadership on employment laws, resolving employee relations issues, and promoting a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively deploys hiring process for hourly workers and temporary employees.
  • Educates plant leadership on local and state employment law to ensure compliance.
  • Manages and mitigates employee grievances by ensuring open forums for discussion and resolution.
  • Coaches and counsels plant management on leadership and management practices.
  • Solves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Edits plant employees on shared service and third-party vendor capabilities.
  • Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support organizational effectiveness.
  • Tracks and documents employment issues and requests.
  • Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover.
  • Establishes and maintains a presence on the plant floor.
  • Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or Labor Relations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in manufacturing.
  • Successful track record in Plant HR Specialist or Center of Excellence (COE) role.
  • Experience in deploying global HR business processes or programs.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of labor relations and employment law.

Skills

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.

Pay

$79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.

Full-time position.
