About the role
As the Human Resource Generalist, you will perform HR-related duties on a professional level and collaborate with HR management to drive employee engagement, build a people-first culture, and support recruiting, safety, workers compensation, payroll, benefits, and training functions. You will maintain HR compliance, contribute to innovative HR practices, and play a strategic role in fostering an environment that enables all.
Responsibilities
- Support onboarding needs and facilitate weekly new hire orientation.
- Process biweekly payroll for up to 600 associates across three OpCo locations (Columbus, Cleveland, Heath OH).
- Perform HRIS data maintenance, including new hire processing and status changes.
- Administer various HR plans and procedures for all personnel, including pay, benefits, and leave-related processes.
- Address employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
- Conduct best-practice surveys and assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide employee relations support, including conducting investigations.
- Provide legal support for all active litigations.
- Conduct regular audits on employee timekeeping records to ensure compliance.
- Assist with responses to unemployment claims.
- Coordinate employee training, employee awards, and other Core-Mark programs.
- Provide additional support to HR processes across Core-Mark.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$60,000 - $65,000 annual base salary, depending on experience.
Schedule
- Onsite, 5 days per week, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM (subject to change based on business needs).
- Expectations of extended hours twice per month.
Training: Onsite in two locations, primarily in Heath, OH and occasionally at the Columbus, OH OpCo (1982 Commerce Rd. Springfield, OH 45504).
