About the role
The Human Resources Generalist at Evolver is responsible for providing friendly and efficient HR support, onboarding and offboarding employees, managing benefits, leave administration, HRIS, employee relations, compliance, talent management, health and safety, and assisting with various HR plans and policies.
Responsibilities
- Effectively provides friendly and efficient HR support to Evolver employees across the organization
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Administers new hire onboarding process, manages employee leaves of absence, processes employee status changes, and supports employee termination
- Benefits Administration: Manages daily benefits operations, assists with enrollment, coordinates open enrollment, and assists with terminations
- Leave Management: Coordinates and tracks FMLA, ADA leaves, ensures compliance with federal and state laws and internal policies
- HRIS Administration: Maintains HRIS records, processes employee status change requests, and updates HR systems and databases
- Employee & Labor Relations: Provides customer service support, acts as primary point of contact for workforce queries, resolves conflicts, and escalates when needed
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensures adherence to labor laws, maintains personnel files, and prepares reports and analytics from HR systems
- Talent Management: Supports performance management, employee development, and training initiatives
- Health & Safety Administration: Assists with workplace safety programs, incident logs, and compliance with workplace safety policies
- Administers various human resources plans, policies, and procedures for all organization personnel; recommends new approaches to improve HR operations and mitigate risks
- Partner with HR leadership team and business unit leaders to coordinate and provide guidance on site activities and events which drive employee engagement
- Develop an in-depth understanding of protocols, policies and procedures to ensure appropriate interpretation and guidance
- Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee and department training needs to support continuous skill development and employee engagement
- Propose improvements to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of HR operations and mitigate HR risks
- Participate in routine and ad hoc internal and external audits
- Actively shadow senior HR leadership on new initiatives and system rollouts to learn and support strategic HR practices
- Provides support to Payroll, management, and other staff when sensitive questions and issues arise
- Responds to and processes external requests for employment verification
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 years of progressive experience within an HR department, demonstrating a well-rounded generalist background with an understanding of Human Resources best practices and current regulations (FMLA, ADA, EEO, ERISA)
- 2 years of experience with foundational HR policies and practices and is knowledgeable in core HR proficiency and compliance
- 1 year of experience with HRIS databases (ADP WFN is a plus), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and ticketing systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience with ADP Workforce Now
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- Experience in government contracting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Outstanding communication skills, high empathy, and a strong customer service attitude
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 years of progressive experience within an HR department
- 2 years of experience with foundational HR policies and practices
- 1 year of experience with HRIS databases (ADP WFN is a plus)
